My brother (1.5 years older than me - 19) just got this (http://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/car/181671166.html) car. Personally, I think he could've done better for $2800. But whatever, at least its a 5-speed :D

Ha, same here. If you do the math, it is only 25000 miles a year. That is not impossible... 66 miles a day on average. My dad drives to work approx 70 miles each way to work 5 days a week. That 36000 miles a year. Good thing it is the company car. :)

Then again, most of the people in my family are chicks, they drive like grandmas (ironicly, excluding my grandma...Jetta GLI) they average like 10,000 miles a year.

I think he could have found something better, but it is hard as crap finding a decent car under 3 grand, under 2 grand it is near impossible to find something that is decent with working AC.

As far as the Civic goes, well, it goes dosn't it? That's really the original purpose of a car. However, I think he probably could have done better for his money, but there are plenty of things to upgrade and tune on Civics. :)

As for the Civic, thats a lot of miles. As has been said before it does go so thats a plus. It would be fun fixing it and maby a little modding?

As, long as it works. There are plenty of honda motors sitting around. If it blows, swap in an LS/vtech. I'd love to put one of those in a crx.

Your elderly stock 944 could kick that Civic's butt. Both are great cars, but designed for slightly different uses. ;)
