OK, i am attempting to fix a 1992 Mitsubishi Lancer sx ca. About two years ago it stopped, water in the sump, bad news. a couple of days ago i decided to fix it, its my sisters car. Can anyone please help me with deciding how to go about finding out exactly wat is wrong. We think the head is split, a friend suggest a coolant pressure test, i am reluctant to do so because all the pips are ****y,
they are slowly disintegrating. Is this a wise option????????
He has also suggested trying to manualy turning over the engine, if i cant turn it, that could mean i am well and truely up s*it creek.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?? this is going to be a serious 'car' rebuild, nearly everything is falling/fallen apart. but, getting the engine running will be hurdle one, lets hope i dont trip and fall.

Also, do you think it would be the easiest to just remove the engine straight up before i try anything. It would only be a 1hour job, i know what i have to do, and i have plenty of winch things lying around to lift it with. ;)
