I know everyone knows they need to change their oil every 3000 miles or every 3 months w/ dino oil, but is everyone bleeding their brake fluid every 2 years as a maintenance issue as well?

I know everyone knows they need to change their oil every 3000 miles or every 3 months w/ dino oil, but is everyone bleeding their brake fluid every 2 years as a maintenance issue as well?LOL really you should do it more often then that. More like once a yr. But its kinda a pain to do it, thats why everyone is lazy when changing any other fluid but oil. Something many people do not know is that brake fluid obsorbs water. Even out of the air, thats why on the lable of the brake fluid bottles it says in large letters, "close cap when done using" or something along those lines....

If a bottle of brake fluid has been sitting out with the cap not on, or even loosely put on for just a few days, in humid conditions the fluid can be ruined. You wont notice that its bad untill you use it. The water in the fluid can turn to gas when its heated by the brakes on a car. thus making bubbles.... which will just compress when you hit the brakes, and not stop the car, you can figure the rest.

And as far as the oil change every 3k miles...lol thats a money maker for the oil/automotive manufacturing companies. Most of us drive normally, and drive a "typical" engine, and do not stress our cars very hard. Most motor oils can withstand this normal driving for about 5-6000 miles before it starts to break down, loosing its cleansing,anti-oxidant,lubrication qualities, that make it oil...
Fully synthetic oil can last even longer, typically about 10,000-13,000 miles before breaking down. I know this because my father specializes in lubrication analysis and tech... he know more about greese and oil than anyone should.

For those who have higher performance engines/cars, or just drive hard... i suggest you change your oil every 3k miles if using organic (conventional) oil. If using full synthetic, every 5k miles should be sufficient.

OK im way off subject. :|
