did you swap the tires and rims around? or did you put them back on the same corner they came off of?

I replaced 2 tires and moved the ones from the front to the back.

You had to put on a wrong sized tire. There isn't any other way they could just start rubbing all of a sudden...unless you cut your springs.

Edit: There is also a chance that your rims are different widths. Ie. Backs fatter than front. So if you moved your back rims to your fronts, they could possibly be rubbing when you turn the wheel.

Or they custom wheels or OEM?

not only wider but the offsets could be different also..on my 91 camaro you cannot swap the front and back rims as there different offsets although there both the same size and same width rim..infact it has it stamped in the rim under the center cap which end it goes on so you wont get them mixed up :D...

The Grand Am has a tire size of 225/50-16 and that is all four tires.

The car is a FWD and I've never heard of any FWD cars that use different sized tires in front than in back.

For some tires, you can't swap other than same side front to back because they are directional.

I suspect he installed custom wheels 225/50r16 or they had a option of 215/60r15 both stand the same hieght and basic width.
