Getting my first car :D
Although I can't drive till April, we're taking up a deal with our dealership.
He's got a bunch of nice used cars:
An H20 Hummer, several Yukons, two GMC Envoys, ect.

I'm really leaning toward the GMC 08 Envoy which is basically brand spanking new, extremely low mileage, and is pretty damn cheap compared to the rest. Also in my favorite tones - black/dark.

The only problem with the Envoy is that it isn't a Denali version - meaning it doesn't come with a whole lot of tech inside. So I was thinking of replacing the speakers and radio system.
I need help here, this is my first time :p

I was looking at this (http://reviews.cnet.com/car-gps-navigation/eclipse-avn726e-dvd-gps/4505-3430_7-33668147.html?tag=txt%3bpage) which seems like a pretty good starting point for me, but I'm thinking I can do better considering I'm from Overclock.net ;)
So, where does one begin with car tech?

Heyah, Omega. :)

If you want the Denali version, you could perhaps expand the area of your search. Many times one can purchase a vehicle out of State and get delivery for a decent price, or you could go pick it up.... great excuse for a road trip. And what is better than a road trip in your new ride.

If you do shop non-locally ensure you use some tools like CarFax so that you can check the VIN history.

Good luck.

Personally, I wouldn't go for any of those as a first car. They're big, bulky and unwieldy. If I were you, I'd start with a car first, then go to the big brute after a year or two.

Big brutes can be a challenge to control is why I wouldn't recommend one for a first car.

I like your taste, but start small. Stay V6 but stick with something smaller like a Jeep Grand Cherokee or a Chevy Blazer. Maybe Toyota RAV4, nice SUVs.

If going for a SUV you might want to look at a GMC terrain or chevy equinox (2010 version) they cost around the same amount as the 08 enovy (terrain cost 24,000, equinox 22,000). Both are midsize/small SUV's with good MPG, nice space for their size and atleast when I test drove had good handling for a SUV.

The terrain is an option that I'm still considering.
The terrain, if I were to not upgrade to leather - would cost me like 25k for 4 wheel drive. That isn't counting any additional upgrades I might want like leather which would bring it to 28k.
The envoy 08 costs only 22.5k and comes with only 22k miles on it, with a warranty that lasts until 36k miles or 2011. Refreshing it would only cost an additional 1k or something.

I'm still debating around my head at the moment. A brand new car which is more expensive or a used car that is cheaper but generally are the same thing. In fact, I'm still scratching my head on why GMC released a new car (terrain) that is less expensive but more or less is the same as the more expensive one. (envoy)

This is what happened before Krunk cleaned out the thread. I'm asking for CAR TECH tips like audio and such. I'm really not asking for your opinion on 'getting a smaller car'. Sorry if that sounds rude, even though you're only trying to help - but it really isn't up for debate at this point. I understand what you're saying but I'm just going to do it. I'm not changing.

So, at this point in time - it's a tossup between the Envoy 08 and the Terrain. REGARDLESS, what I'm looking for is tips on car audio and tech. I was looking at the model I put in the OP but what are my options DIY wise or are there other solutions I should look into? Or should I just go pay someone to do it for me?

I say terrain. Even though the it comes with 4 cylinder (you can get V6 it just cost 1,600 more) the tradeoff is how much your stopping at the gas station. If you do get the terrain or eqiunox or whatever if you got a pet get leather or your cloth seats will have fur hairs sticking out every other end. I haven't tested out the sound system in the terrain yet, but if I do I'll tell you about it.

Yeah, the more and more I read about the Terrain like the CNET review, and then compare with what I remember from seeing the Envoy 08 - I'm really digging the Terrain.
The only problem is I can't even sit in or test the Terrain because our dealership is completely sold out at the moment. so I can't even be sure at the moment. I have to go to another dealership, if there are any around that have them at the moment.

EDIT:
Friday I'm going to another dealership to checkout a Terrain.
It does cost an additional 5k though it seems if I want all wheel drive

Sorry, but I just disagree. with either car for a first car.

If you must, my vote would be the envoy.
