Default JVC or kenwood

Kenwood KDC-248U CD receiver - Hands-on Research at Crutchfield.com

JVC KD-R520 CD receiver - Features & Specs at Crutchfield.com
I'm looking to replace the stock stereo in my 2005 echo, and i'm leaving the speakers alone for now, what should I get?

Flip a coin. They are nearly identical. The jvc appears to have a few more features like rear aux input and bluetooth capability, but the kenwood might have slightly better sound and better FM reception.

JVC tends to cheap out a bit on the sound internals to cut costs. I'd go for the kenwood.

I love when people give solid, evidence backed recommendations on forums! ^

Unfortunately I'm having a hard time deducing if that was sarcastic or not. Personal experience has shown me that at similar price points to various manufacturers, JVC's SQ is lacking a bit vs similar units from pioneer, kenwood, and alpine.
You ask a question on a forum, you are asking to draw from the pool of knowledge of its membership. Can I defend my statement, yes, if you can prove me wrong I would be happy to hear you out. My response was by no means perfect it was derived from my personal experiences.

My point is that it was just an opinion... Not a fact. So stating that JVC cheaps out on internals compared to kenwood is not always true. Does JVC make very high end units like some of the others? No, but at the price point the op is looking at, i dare you to try and find much of a difference. And no one is going to really be able to hear the difference in the 2 units because i doubt any one will have a high end enough of a system to hear it. Your not going to use a $100 headunit on an $8000 sound system.

If you were to state something like "the kenwood has a 24bit DAC, the JVC does not" or something along those lines, ide believe it. But they both have 24bit DAC's. They arent going to mention much about the sound quality capabilities.
