Lightbulb 1995 Chevy Corsica Head Unit

Looking to switch from a tape deck to something more... not the 90's. The whole set up itself is quite large, do I need to get some sort of conversion kit so a smaller unit can fit? I'm a n00b but I'm no idiot, think I can achieve this goal with proper reading and care?

I can post pictures if need be.

THats the site I use to buy all my stuff. For the head unit to fit they will have a plastic frame that will fit where your old head unit was or a different location. (In my truck the head unit was moved to where the EQ and tape deck were). As far as wiring, they make the harnesses for hooking up to new radio.

Are you comfortable looking at a wiring diagram and splicing? If so don't bother with their harnesses. I did it looking at a haynes manual diagram in all of 20 minutes.
