Default ATTN Pbasil ... Jeep Audio Ideas

I'm about to purchase my old 1998 Jeep Cherokee. I want to replace all the stock speakers, possibly wiring too, if necessary. The problem I remember having with the Jeep was rattling, and a lot of it. However, there was no decent base. It was terribad. So... sticking with stock speaker sizes... what should I buy? Also, what should I do about the rattling? Would it make more sense to drop it off at Best Buy and make them do it? All I want is to be able to turn the volume up just past legal limits, without loss of audio quality.

Looks like I need six 5 1/4 inch speakers

How's this?
3 of these 3 of these
1 of these 1 of these

Already have some 12ga wire.

The head unit is fine if you get the features you want out of it, though i personally would grab something with 3 pre-outs for hooking up amps. Speaking of which are planning to add an amp for the mids/highs? What subs/amp?

The infinity speakers are still a great budget speaker IMO. Seems like spl is a bit more of a concern to you than pure SQ.

What is your overal total budget for the sound system? Taking your car to bestbuy and having them find and fix the rattles will cost you an arm and a leg! Buy a bulk pack of sound deadening of your choice (i used fatmat last time and was more than happy with it) and tear it all apart after you find the worst rattles and stick the stuff everywhere.
Also you can buy some cheaper foam padding about 1-1.5" thick from the fabric store, preferably open cell, but not that important, and stuff pieces behind/in between panels that vibrate or rattle together. Then any you have left is a great separating layer under the carpets to help even further.

I'm thinking I'll spend... $600 on the entire setup at most.

Including amps, wiring, sub(s) and enclosure, and sound deadening?

K. If there will be a sub, I want to take up very little space. I like the cargo room in the Jeep

Total $615 + shipping.

I tried to piece in a sub, but it just wasnt in the budget, a sub, amp, and box would have added 300-400$. And i dont see the point in buying super cheap subs and amps cause they all sound like garbage.

I think this simple set up will sound great, especially after your done with all the sound deadening, which is quite a process, but absolutely worth it! I can get into this process later.
