Default Tahoe HU

I want to replace the headunit on the tahoe. Do direct fits exist? I want bluetooth!! Sound quality is already awesome, though. I'd like to avoid a conversion.

No lows? No highs? Must be a Bose?

jkjk

Is it rocking the Bose sound system?

EDIT: Direct fit, with bluetooth. Everything else will require an installation kit for single DIN receivers. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_068NEWP...d-Newport.html

There are tons of options man! What exactly are you meaning by direct fit? Like take up the whole space, not have a slimmer radio that has a pocket under it?

I want it to look nice. Like, clean. I'm a very particular person.if the HU has to be smaller, gimmie switches that I can add functions to, such as aux lamps for front and rear, brake light override, etc. Needs to be flush, though. Dont want crap sticking out all ugly like

This is what Crutchfield says will fit your Tahoe.

Metra 99-3002 In-dash Receiver Kit Fits select 1995-2005 Cadillac, Chevy, and GMC vehicles €” single-DIN or shaft-style radios at Crutchfield.com

Unfortunately, anything mounted in that will be sticking out. Fully custom mounting may be your only option.

EDIT: Found a YT video with that kit installed. Not sure if you're still interested.

Only option is one of those double DIN plates. From there pick any stereo that makes you happy (except the huge ones).

You say you don't want a conversion because you want to preserve sound quality...which makes no difference.

You also say sound quality is awesome. Which is a new concept considering it's the stock HU. (Trust me dude, I've owned enough of this era GM vehicles (and currently own the exact same one!) and the HU is ALWAYS the weak point.

..that's not to say the speakers aren't crap either though.

You misunderstand. I have good quality audio. I want to replace the unit because I want Bluetooth connectivity. I was hoping a major company made one that fills the slot for a modest price. Plus, the light bulbs for the buttons died... Lol

So, the first link I linked is no good? It's just the unit, looks incredibly stock, and it has bluetooth functionality.
