Default what do you think about this amp?

i was just looking around on for a new amp because i hooked my friends sony xplode 1000W amp up to my 12" kicker comps and they sounded much better than with my kicker 300.1 amp (300W RMS, not sure what peak is). I found this http://www.overstock.com/Electronics.../product.html? so what do you think?

Im surprised the sony sounded better... How was the kicker tuned on your 12's, and how old is the sony amp? Some over the old sony amps were great... But the newer ones are junk.

And In my honest opinion avoid lanzar amps as well... They are dirt cheap amps, and clip like crazy and are super dirty when it comes to signal... Your going to get what you paid for... I would like to think that the kicker amp just wasnt tuned right...

my buddy's amp is about 5-6 years old he said. so what would you say is the best amp for ~$200 or less? i'm just talkin loud here though, i care about SQ, but that takes back seat to me. i was thinking that if that amp is powerful enough i would only have to run it at about 75% power and still get good kick from it. I have tried tuning my amp for better sound, and i was fine with how it sounded... until i heard them hooked up to his amp. from then on i really really want a new amp lol.

well i got a new amp and i went back to my kicker amp. maybe it just sounds better in his car than mine because of the size or shape of his trunk?

If you moved the subs to his car then you certainly heard the difference in the car, and the amp, not just the difference in the amp. The vehicle plays a role in how it will all sound... And IMHO, keep saving, your not going to get a better amp than the kicker you have for $200... Save up about $450-600 and toss me a PM. I may have a few sitting around for sale by then that will be killer monoblocks.
