Well if you somehow secure the box where it can't be stolen, then the people trying to steal it would probably just punch a hole through the sub or something.....

Not trying to discourage you from buying subs though....just don't your life savings into it, lol. Upgrade your door speakers first and buy an amp that can be installed under the seat or something, then see if you still want a sub.

Most people I know with jeeps built a custom rear box and bolted it down from the inside the box then secured the speakers done with allen heads to delay the process if someone tried to steal it you can't stop them but you can make there life hard.

You may look around for the console at sites such as Crutchfield.com or something of the likes. I've seen a center console taken out of an Tahoe and an 8" Kicker L7 be put inside it, but I am not sure of the size of the wrangler console.

They make speceific boxes for the wrnagler that can be secured and will fit in the very small space under or behind the seat...

The problem with a loud radio is that someone will hear it and recognize your vehicle at some point, and it seems like it is always the wrong type of people. Your vehicle is quite susceptible due to, as you pointed out, the ease of breaking into it.
