Default Peerless XLS car sub.

I have a Extra Long Stroke 10" 4ohm subwoofer from Peerless; a model that was specifically built for car applications.

I had a RE (bottom of the line) 10", but didn't like it.

For the life of me, it seems Peerless doesn't exist anymore (cant find a website?). I am trying to find more information on this rare subwoofer.

What sealed box volume should I go for? The last time I had this sub hooked up it sounded great. Very tight and fast, excellent sound quality for my varied music taste. If I recall correctly (been through a number of subwoofers ) it was powered by a 300watt US Acoustics amplfier, but I can not recall how big my sub box was.

I really want some depth in my car, so any help appreciated.

Its a good woofer. There is the XXLS available as well if you want higher output.

Check that out. I think that's your model.

I'm only starting to deal with them here in Australia so I really can't recomend a box at this point.

There should be a program on the net which you can feed those specs into and it can generate a box for you.

Peerless does still exist, and they make phenominal speakers! Infact many high end audio manufacturers still use Peerless tweeter and mid range drivers in there designs, and many car audio manufacturers re-badge them, such Focal...

Parts-express.com also has a small selection of Peerless equipment.
