Default 2002 S-10 Head unit replacement help

OK, just bought a 2002 S-10 extended cab. I was going to replace the factory RDS GM radio with the Pioneer head unit from my old car. Problem is, will I need to get a part to allow all the warning bells and crap to work? If I do, what do I need? I have yet to find the answers searching Google.
Thanks in advance

My 2000 cavy did but I bypassed it with some creative engineering. lol. 99 and 01 cavy's don't it depends on what design your truck is. I would think you don't I did a HU and EQ in dash install in a 02 S-10 that I didn't need one. It should be the same except I built my own install face plate.

I had to use one of those chime adapters on my dads Chevy Express when I installed a touchscreen nav system for him, but crutchfield showed it as neccesary to the install. Your vehicle doesnt say it needs it, so you should be good to go.

ouch, if you buy a nicer unit though they may slash the price to half of that. Thats what they did for me at least.
