I don't think you use the dimmer wire - most head units are lighted all the time.

Did you connect the antenna?

Question antenna

the harness for the antenna use to be too small to fit so found a proper size and it still didnt come on. after a few months i decided to check it again and when i pulled the deck out and moved the wires to the side it kicked in for a moment and never turned on again....

today i just took off the new harness and thought i should replace the cable wire

Yea I just put electrical tape on the ends and let them be. The only thing you'd need i'm assuming are the memory and ignition wires and the speaker wires.

FM needs the antenna, if you don't have one you probably need to go buy one. They aren't expensive.

Just properly crimp the connections with 18-20g butt connectors. No need for a ghetto install that'll catch fire. :fyi:

A bad connection means a spark could occur melting or igniting the tape.

You have no idea how easily that is going to come undone driving down a bumpy road, LOL.

Hell, my antenna connector kept coming out on bumpy roads until I cut the strap that held it to the back of the cubbyhole for the radio. haven't had a problem yet.
