Default sub and amp problem

let me start with ive asked tons of people and nothing has worked so far.
i have two alpine type r subs model swr 1242d. and i have a amp model Kac 9103d. ive been told to wire the subs to 2ohm and it should run great. not the case i smelled something burning and shut it off quick. please help with this as it is very frustrating. so i need to know how to wire the subs in the box and how to tune the amp so it will run if possible. im thinking its just not a good combo for amp and sub.

Burning sounds like the wiring. Did you use thick enough wires for the power the system is going to draw?

Other than that, I am of no help.

Each sub is dual 4 ohm. And the amp is one ohm stable, so optimally you should run it a one ohm. WIring the subs in parallel/parallel will make for a 10hm load at the amp. To wire in parallel + get wired together, and - does as well on each sub, then the + and - from each sub gets put together and plugged in the amp...

It is normal to sometimes smell burning with new subs, and some amps. As the voice coils get hot the first few times, it lightly burns and actually cures the glue used in the speaker, so that is often what you smell when breaking in a speaker.
