Default [MLIVE] GM Unwraps 2015 Chevy Colorado

Source: Photos: GM unwraps 2015 Chevy Colorado ahead of world debut | MLive.com

Quote:
GM will initially offer the Colorado with two engine options: A standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder estimated at 193 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque and a 3.6-liter V6 estimated at 302 horsepower (224 kW) and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. For the 2016 model year, GM will also offer an all-new Duramax 2.8-liter turbodiesel – “greatly expanding the capabilities” of the pickup truck, according to GM.

Idk for some reason I think Tacoma when I first saw it lol

A 2.8 turbo diesel sounds like it's a perfect balance for a lighter 1/4 ton truck like this, compared to the 4.5-5 Liter range being perfect for a 1/2 ton. Back it with a solid 6 speed and GM could finally have a serious offering here!

I'll be keeping my eye on this to see if GM finally starts building these trucks to the same standard as the bigger Silvy. I'll get over the funky rounded sheetmetal if the innards are up to par.

Hopefully this kicks some life back into the small (er, midsize) pickup segment! 2.8 D sounds like a perfect fit. Now ford needs to smarten up and bring the new Ranger over here.

But boooo for automatic only.

Chevy pondering Colorado ZR2; manual transmission confirmed for base model - Autoblog

No 4x4 manual, but oh well. Better than auto only

Fleets don't even want manuals anymore these days. If my truck was automatic I probably would have sold it by now, the 5 speed is too much fun

Wish they could have kept the front end style of the '14 silvy and sierra.... I don't like the look.
