It actually drives very well. You should test drive one.

I don't care how well it drives, it's FWD. It's limited. I live in MN, we all drive FWD cars or 4WD ones. Any real sports car is RWD though. You can't have that much fun in a FWD car...trust me, i've tried.

With FWD and 280/320 you might want to look into running some sticky tires.

It does sound like a good recipe for a quick, comfy hot rod. Are you planning to upgrade your intercooler at some point in the future?

Also, do you have any quick specs on your current O.E turbo? I am just curious about this.

That's pretty damn expensive for those kind of gains, but I guess Volvos are generally more expensive to work on. I agree with Speed, you definitely want better tires if you are working with that much power on FWD.

Those are my current tires. I'll run them down. I don't let the tires spin when I accelerate.
After I get those bald, I'll buy better tires. I just don't see a reason to sell those as they are still quite new.

Those gains are just the chip tune by IPD. If I do that other stuff, would guessing this be too much?

280HP -- 310HP
320TQ -- 335TQ

I will dyno this when all is done.

Remove all the plastic trim, healight wipers, and black out the tail lights with night shade. Get a boost controller, find some way to CUSTOM tune it, and crank the boost. 10psi!? Really? That tiny turbo you have could pump a few more lbs of boost safely, but ultimately a bigger turbo (gt28ish) and some more boost with supporting mods and youll be ready to see why everyone knocks FWD. Anything over ~250-280 Whp on a FWD car, and your not going to plant it other than straight line over 45mph.

How wide are your wheels? Your gonna want as much rubber as you can up front. If those are factory wheels they are probably no wider than 8", so a 245/40/17 should be safe. I ran Falken FK452's on my supr for some time and absolutely loved them. Amazing tire for the money. Definitely a great budget sport tire. Kuhmo ecsta sx is a good one too.

I don't really desire much more power out of this particular Volvo, so I'll keep the turbo in it.
As far as accelerating goes, I never floor anything unless it's a straightaway, or screwing with someone who's passing me. (right as they are passing me on the interstate, I accelerate to their speed, then back off. I don't block them, just toy around. I keep myself in their sights as I do this.)
As far as FWD-AWD/RWD: No plans. Changed, because it's more cost effective to buy an S60R. My next car will be an S60R with less than 30k miles.
My tires are as wide as the body allows. Wheel spacers make them stick out all ugly, but they are still quite wide. Already hit 140MPH without losing control.
Basically, this won't be a track car, just a very quick, fun to drive commuter.

ordered the exhaust manifold.
High Flow "R" Style Exhaust Manifold
Found one for $180 on the fleabay. OEM part. Going to have the mechanic quote me on a custom CAI. I've decided to go 3" borla, from the downpipe to the muffler will be 3", then split to dual whatever stock exhaust is (I assume 2"). Gonna get the R style body kit not unlike the one in that other thread. Gotta paint those wheels silver before April!
The fun begins

I'm keeping the grille as it is. I want to make sure that people know that a Volvo kicked their ass.

Are you planning on hand porting or having the manifold extrude honed?

The Nissan SR20 guys have been known to have the internals of a cast manifold cleaned up and smoothed with extrude honing to help boost response. Hand porting and gasket matching is useful too.
