The 3.0L V6 was a dog, I think it was rated for like 165hp, but if it was lucky it got 100 to the wheels lol. I used to get mad when someone would cause me to slow down on the highway because it would take a 1/4 of a mile to get it back up to 80mph(with pedal to the floor). It used to get like 15mpg(I had the wagon that weighed even more), I took it down to the lake once and we have some mildly large hills, it was down in second gear going up every hill, even with a 85mph head start at the bottom.

Its really not worth doing anything to this engine, just be happy they didn't order the old 4 banger that was available with a 3spd auto. I guess if you really had the money, they did offer the fuel injected 3.8L in this year, you could roll over to one of those....hell find a shiny Supercharged model from the grand prix, that would motivate it.
