The 3.0L V6 was a dog, I think it was rated for like 165hp, but if it was lucky it got 100 to the wheels lol. I used to get mad when someone would cause me to slow down on the highway because it would take a 1/4 of a mile to get it back up to 80mph(with pedal to the floor). It used to get like 15mpg(I had the wagon that weighed even more), I took it down to the lake once and we have some mildly large hills, it was down in second gear going up every hill, even with a 85mph head start at the bottom.

Its really not worth doing anything to this engine, just be happy they didn't order the old 4 banger that was available with a 3spd auto. I guess if you really had the money, they did offer the fuel injected 3.8L in this year, you could roll over to one of those....hell find a shiny Supercharged model from the grand prix, that would motivate it.
Do your part to increase minivan population, go bareback...its more fun anyways!

Or feel free to drive that SUV and argue its not just a raised station wagon....jus sayin.
