Default Mikes Second Bike: 1979 Yamaha XS750

Figured I'd start a log for the new bike...

So far:

Purchased for $350
Quite good shape, needed carb and brake work

Ordered pads all around for $25

Rebuilding carbs, ordered 3 carb kits for $20 a piece.

Converting from dual vacuum (chronic leakers) petcocks to single normal petcock.

Pics soon.

Wow, how did you manage to pick this up for only 350? That's an awesome deal on a 750!

You're telling me

I replied ten minutes after he posted it on CL, emailed back in the morning with his phone number. By the time I called him (30 seconds after reading the email) he said he had 8 people already that wanted to see it today, starting at noon. I asked him if he was home now, he said yes, i hopped in the truck and bought it..it was completely a "right place, right time" thing.
