Should've cleaned up for the pic but I'm short on time. After putting up a mean fight the 4.3 motor and trans are finally out! The old 4l60E will be mated to the 5.3 tomorrow and the new motor goes in as soon as the wiring harness arrives. Aside from the harness I now have everything I need to complete the swap.

I'm planning to run dual 2.5'' exhaust from the sanderson shorty headers back to a Y-pipe and into the OE muffler the truck has now in an effort to keep things quiet. Remember I have a thing for sleepers.

Also pulled the trigger on my own full-fledged HPTuners GM tuning package and I'll be doing my own tuning from now on out.

Stay tuned, if all goes well my next update will be a video of the truck running with the new 5.3.

The new 5.3 is in! Now it's just wiring and fluids before she runs.

(The intake is just resting here in the pic)

Lightweight high mount alternator setup, LS7 water pump, & LS6 aluminum balancer.

Also installed a new ZQ8 sport steering box & Moog steering bits.

(Ignore the spaghetti, it'll be cleaned up soon)

Engine harness is in and adapted to the stock wiring, the pump primes and she cranks like factory when I turn the key!

Mounted the shorty headers and the new belt tensioner. I measured for the belt and it just so happens that I had the perfect new belt sitting on a shelf in my garage. Pure luck!

Do it once, do it right. The truck definitely needs to handle well with all this new found power, and it should with all new Moog steering links and new sport steering box. Happy happy happy!

Modded the factory core support to recess the new radiator forward. Came out very clean.

Thanks for the encouragement guys!

The truck is only a few parts shy of being road ready - namely the fuel line, battery relocation, and exhaust.
