Found a magazine article online about swapping an S10 frame under a classic pre-1950 truck and they showcased a kit to do away with the complicated recirculating ball setup and swap in a modern rack and pinion instead.

Well I got to thinking and did some research, and I'm going to see if it's feasible to ditch the stock steering system and swap in a complete rack from a '00-'08 Honda S2000. These racks are lightweight, compact, and simple; plus they're regarded as having excellent steering manners for an electrically assisted R&P. Doing so would shed ~40 pounds from the front end, massively improve steering, and just generally be awesome.

I'm going to start taking measurements now to figure out the ackerman angle and best mounting position.
