Peugeot 106 project

I don't know much about these things, but would it be possible to fit an engine from a ford (more specifically a 1.0 ecoboost 125hp) into a peugeot 106? Would I also have to change the gearbox and everything? Would the car even manage the extra power (would it destroy the bearings or something?) And don't worry, I wouldn't do the work myself, I'd give it to a professional.

Thanks for your help

Given enough money, yes. Yes you'd need to change gearbox and everything. It would be very expensive.

So would it be better if I just went for a peugeot conversion? Say, a 1.6 GTI?

yes, but not by much. I don't know anything about Peugeots as everyone on this site is US-based.
