Default Engine Bay

I did some work to the engine cover the idea wass nothing flashy but improve on the stock look what do you think?

[/IMG]

I painted the top cover then grinded down the letters and fins used a flap wheel to lay down grain and cleared the entire thing plus low glos on the timing cover and cam towers

[/IMG]

I forgot to take a before pic but this is a brand new stock cover

Also I have a intake coming in the mail to get rid of that ugly air box and I'm building a custom PCV breather system to replace that box

alright this is before intake with just painted engine cover, cam towers timing cover and ps pump
[/IMG]

This is after all the same but intake installed

[/IMG]

Again different view

I also moded a simple crankcase breather filter to the intake tube that the vehicle never had originally to keep crankcase oil out of the intake since that air box kinda acted like a simple catch can but that factory box was never very effective.

Next I figure either relocate the battery to where the filter is and make a new tube that goes straight and down through the battery's current position then infront the radiator. Or I have some stainless steal plate to make a cold air box for the filter plus that cheap filter has to go to make room for K&N.

Other future mods to watch for

First
All at ounce waterpump new timing chain and tensioner oversized light wieght crankpulley under sized alt pulley custom poly mounts.

Second
2.5" drop with full adjustable ciol overs

Third or possibly first
17" eagle wheels (already have the wheels just need to buy p225/45R17 BFG KDW tires)

Fourth
Full 2.25" exhaust from engine all custom made to my specs and stage 2 chip

Last
Sound system already designed but last on my list. Debating on a similar project to Pbasil except 1 sub but fiberglass is lighter then wood.

Final results I'm hoping for 35mpg and if it's in the 14's at all even 14.99 I'll be extatic.

Looks great man! Very clean look. I like that its mostly stock looking, I am just not into the whole riced out look... I too am in the process of cleaning up various parts under the hood, but im waiting to do the bulk of it while i have the motor out being rebuilt hopefully this fall... Something that will really clean the look up under the hood as well is either repaint the radiator cover that is starting to fade, or have a locla metal shop fab up a new one made of aluminum and have it polished, chromed or brushed...
