This 2.0L 16v you plan on putting in, where are you swapping it from? Horsepower?

I'm interested in some more info.

The 2.0L from the new GTI's kicks 200hp. Imagine having that in your 83 Rabbit, haha. That would be SWEET!

Meh, dont get the low end GTi engine, They have brought out a 2.0L 16v in Seat Leon Cupra and S3 with 265bhp, with a remap they see 310bhp+ now that would be SWEET!

I believe that from a new GTI, you are looking at 220hp stock

As for the 2.0L 16v that I am planning on putting in there, we are looking at anywhere between 120-140hp... Almost, twice the hp I have in there already

I assume you'll be fighting past some fitment issues?

This swap is going to be real interesting.

I think that it'll need a little bit of mount adjustments, but in theory yes

I would have gone, perhaps the VR6 route if I did not have to re-built the whole front to support it. This will be a lot easier, I hope

Change of plans

A friend of mine had just rebuilt a 1.8L JH with a 5 speed tranny that he was going to put into his MKI Jetta, but decided to drop the project....

Still working on a price with him, but if all works out, i'll have a new MKI Jetta as a donor for this bad boy
