Default Got my New(Used) Car!

1999 Red Plymouth Neon, DOHC 2.0L Engine.
Has 131,xxx miles. Brakes went out about 2 days ago(they locked up sometimes, were sticking really badly. So me and my uncle replaced theRotors, Calipers, and Pads.
I got the oil/air filter changed today.
I intend on getting a new head unit as well, probably next week.

Loving this car, my aunt kept good care of the interior and oil changes almost regularly. Hoping it lasts a decent while. I plan on babying it.

Best of luck! Never been a fan of neons, mainly because half of them are riced beyond recognition :/

really!?!?!?! I can't imagine why you'd want to rice a car like this...I mean the headlights are a huge turnoff for me...They're like bug-eyes. (Well...the 1st gen ones at least, newer once look nice imo.) I've thought about tinting the windows, but I don't really think it would look good...this particular red would just look bad /w black. I've thought about getting it painted, but don't feel like dropping the $$ on that. (How much would it be exactly?)

Neons(underglow) seem kinda pointless to me for a Neon. Only thing I'm interested in is putting a different Stereo Receiver for my Zune, and POSSIBLY tinting the windows. but as long as it runs fine. I don't care about the other things a whole lot.

I do have a question, are new brakes supposed to have a smell? I mean it could of just been from using them. They didn't smell at ALL like they did when they were going out. Just had a smell...didn't even really smell like breaks. And I had a lot done to the car today..(Oil/other fluids topped off) I only smelled this 'smell' when I walked in front of the car. I'm wondering if it could actually be something else.

Some oil probably spilled onto the header when it was topped up. Happens to me all the time. IT will burn off and not harm a thing.

My rigs:

1985 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci OHV inline six | 4-speed OD manual | 310K | No power brakes | Running 100% - It hasn't driven this good in 15 years!

1984 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci six | granny four | 3.55 rear end | 210K | Brakes shot. Rear drums are doing most of the work. Not fit to drive due to that.
1997 Ford Explorer XLT | 4.0L Vulcan V6 | 5-speed automatic | shift-on-the-fly 4WD | 210,000 miles | Running 95% - Needs brakes on all four corners + bald tires
1989 Ford F150 | 300cid six...again | 5-speed | 4x4 | 160K | Needs brakes done as well. Oi!

This.

And not to dampen your enthusiasm, but Top Gear suggests the Neon is possibly the worst car ever made. (Though I would have to say the Intrepid with the 2.7 is as bad, from my experience.)

I plan on treating her nice. :P Is it true you can get different color tints? Like Red/Blue/etc. How much more is that over normal dark black tint? I'm thinking a light Silvery Red would look a lot better than black...

Do you have a link? I'd like to read up on it and what makes it bad.(For educational purposes. ) and Yeah, my dad had a 2002(or 2000) Dodge Intrepid, it didn't last long...Not even 100,xxx miles before it started having serious problems.

Oh, ok. Thanks! I figured it had something to do with fluids s burning on the engine since I just had all that done.

Thanks for the reassurance everyone!

They hate the Neon, but loved the Focus? Something is backwards here
