Default 1988 Dodge Shadow ES Turbo - 56k warning big pictures 700kb each!

Well got down and dirty today and got my car torn apart. Why?

Locked up engine-ouch.

Well looking at the car there was not to much cosmetically wrong with it... besides the rust on the roof.

open the hood and there is the 2.2L K-Car engine. Famous for it's aluminum head cracking. I got this car for $60. Yeah, sixty bucks. You'd think the car would not even move, right? Well, it rolls, electronics are perfect o and the interior is great.

Now for the problem. Upon removing the head, I found a quarter sized hole on top of the number 2 piston.

good news is, this was a popular engine, used in all these cars

Have you considered swapping in the 2.5 liter turbo? With a new ECU and MAP sensor with around 15 PSI of boost they can put out over 300 hp and 300 foot pounds of torque.

Yeah, I'm 16 and without a job. Makes things like cars and computers expensive.

Getting a engine from the junk yard with a cracked head, bottom end is fine from what I can see.

Nice collection of paperweights. I have a friend that made a coffee table out of a 1.8t (Audi A4) that threw a rod through the side of the block.

Yeah, it's salvageable. Just a hole in one of the pistons and a broke flywheel.
