so seeing my buddy thinks i spending to much... and also thinks i have lost interest, says he can build the car to run 10's for at or under a 1000 bucks with the rx7. the rx7 is a shell with suspension. so a rolling shell, it has no engine, interior, trans, rear diff or alxes. the car has no fender hood or front bumper. was well there is no wiring in the car, and no gas tank.

Tell your buddy he's delusional. Even a high mileage stock LS1 with either a 4L60E or T56 alone will run you about $1500. Then if you're going to be forging it for boost and(obviously needing) a built transmission, you're throwing money at it like it's a boat. Then a custom carbon fiber, hell even aluminum, driveshaft is another $800+. If your buddy did in fact build a V8 RX7 for under $1000, he either knows a LOT of people, or used 200,000mi+ parts that are likely to fail anyway because he wanted to cheap out.

Cheap. Reliable. Fast. In the car world, you can only choose two of those.

Ya. He thinks I'm not listing to him. He keeps tell me that everyone and there brother has done it. I've tAlked to every one and there dog. and they wanted some of what he was smoking. A turbo 2 diff is 300 bucks.and engine and trans from the junk yard is 300 bucks.
