Default Jetta GLS (1.8L Turbo) BY 2000, work log ;-)

Alright, since i just bought my first car in the US, i decided to just keep a little work log on here and maybe ask around some questions and such. I hope thats of interest for someone else ;-)

Details about the Car:
- Make / Model Volkswagen Jetta GLS
- Year 2000
- Miles 84500
- Motor 1.8L Turbocharged dual overhead cam
- Price paid $ 4200

Equipped with:
- Blow of valve
- Cold Air intake
- Magnaflow Cat back exhaust
- VW Alloy's Graphite / Grey
- Rockford Fosgate Punch 10" sub
- Amp (ill have to check)
- DVD Player by Boss (unneeded, therefor removal coming up)
- cheapo head unit (will be switched to a nicer one soon)
- clarion 7" screen (off track, therefor removal coming up)
- blue led instrument cluster mod started (ima make all switches and such blue led, waiting for parts arrival from germany)

Worklog for the next few month:
- straighten out the audio system (remove dvd parts, replace head unit)
- receive and install blue leds for all switches / instrument cluster
- timing belt kit with waterpump (will be installed by a tech)
- remove the roof liner and replace the sunroof slide or redo the lining with black fabric
- more to come

Stick around, we only really have one other VW afficianado, mega_option, but he doesn't come around too much.

ive found when you add boost, auto's are pretty fun

Please keep in mind that this thing is going to be my daily driver till i get another car sometime 2011 or so so i dont want anything special for the motor right now, it has enough juice to get me around for sure...
i like my rims and tires tho, thats something that ll stay on the car for sure.

sweet, maybe he ll be around sometime later on when i start working on the car right now finding a house is a first priority tho

because that wont happen. Getting a manual in GA is kinda pointless, if i was still back in good ol deutschland i would not have bought an automatic car for sure.

its got a good punch to it right now, but as said ^^ there, its a daily driver for now, till i can afford a second car to get this transfered into a project car.

im from germany the land of the autobahn and thin roads, non v8 trucks and better gas milage on most cars. xD

Yeah I know what you mean, I was there earlier this year. I did see quite a few Ford trucks though.
