Default 100k Miles too much?

I've been looking for a new car recently(driving a 85 4runner) and i really want a WRX with a budget around $9-10k and id like an Auto trans.

Well i found exactly that here.

But it has over 100k Miles on it. Its the only WRX i could find within a reasonable distance of me that fits my budget.

What do you think?

100k miles is not bad at all, as long as you know for a fact that it was maintained well. If you dont know, then i would probably shy away from it and maybe keep it as a last resort.

Mileage isnt everything. It really just depend on who drove and maintained the car. If you arent sure about how the car was treated, i would'nt buy it with any more than 60k miles on it.

Hell, I bought a 99 Monte Carlo with 135k and it died 2 years later. The guy before me beat the hell out of it. I just bought a 99 Grand Prix GT with 65k on it and the guy kept a record on EVERYTHING he did to the car(oil changes and all) and I won't doubt this car will go to 200k. That is if I keep it. Been eyeing a late 80's Z28. >.>

All in all, like pbasil said, 100k well maintained and looked after or beaten to hell and treated like a dirty w****. Need to find these things out.

like its been stated, milage is usually is a gauge to measure lifespan. The more well maintained a car is, the longer the lifespan.

It looks pretty clean except for the painted dash parts. Other than that it looks like it was well cared for. And 100k on a bugeye is pretty common now so that isn't a major problem.

As others have stated, mileage means very little if the car was properly cared for. A car that was beat on and only has 5k miles may be worse off than a similar car with 50k miles that was babied all it's life.

My jeep has 172k miles on the clock and still rides and handles quite nicely. I'm pretty sure the one other owner was an older person who used the jeep for long trips or something, although who knows for sure.
