Default 1993 Cavalier

Ok I have looked up the value of it on kbb, but there is a wide range from like $800-$1400.

Its a 1993 Cavalier Wagon, it has 195,000 miles on it. Its a 2.2L with 3 speed auto. I will just put the pro's and con's.

Pro's:
Two owner car(myself and my dad who bought it new)
Engine was broken in old school style(under 50 mph, varying speed, no A/C, no quick accelerations, first 1000 miles, then an oil change)
All maintaince has been done.
New brakes all the way around installed in August.
New tires all the way around installed in June(80,000 miles Michelin's).
New battery installed in May 2010.
A/C is fully functional and all original.
Engine and Tranny are all original.

Con's:
The windshield washer squirter motor isn't working, seems to be an electrical gremlin.
There is some surface rust starting to show.
The headliner is starting to droop in the front(just started)

Overall I think its definately ahead of the curve in condition, for a car that is 18 years old.

It may not be the prettiest car, but its gotten me through some really tough times. It has always started and never left me stranded, or my parents for that fact. I remember I was in elementary school when my dad and I went to go get it from the dealership.

yours seems in excellent shape given age and mileage I would post the car for sale at $2000 or best offer and see what offers you get. Remember it may get low balled, but I believe you could walk away with at least $1200. It has been a great car to you try to find it a good owner even if it's for slightly less money. I would take les s then $1200.

May be replace the headliner should make it more appealing.

Seems very clean and well taken care of. Most cavys are beat to snot and cheap. That said, i think this would be worth a premium because it's been taken well care of, has had basically one owner, and for the most part, still works perfectly.

I'd list it for $1500 and see what the best offers you get are. I wouldn't take less than $1100

Yeah I need to look into a headliner, I also need to detail it badly. This winter has brought a lot of filth to the interior. Its light grey so it shows dirt very very badly. I really wish I could keep this car and drive it until it dies, but sadly we need to make sure we have a reliable car and with it approaching 200k its just not got too many years left in it. I would guess most cavaliers of this vintage are probably already dead(at less than 200k too).

The headliner is a easy DIY project total investment should be about 35-50 and it will make a real improvement when selling.

My grandma had a cavy of that generation. hers was a sedan but i believe she had almost 250k on it when she traded it in on a used Dodge Neon.
