Default 1987 Honda Civic

Ok first off the honda has more damage than the picture shows, someone ran a stop sign(and had no insurance=POS person), and damaged the front end more. The headlight is cracked and broken, the turn signal lenses are broke and the side maker is just a bare bulb.

Its a 1987 Honda Civic with 257,000 miles on the car.

Pro's:
Engine has about 50,000 miles on it.
Tires, brakes, and battery were new about a year ago(45,000 miles tires)
It always starts on first crank.
It always gets over 30 mpg.
Cd player with pioneer 3 way speakers all the way around.

Con's:
The clutch is getting old, 65,000 miles on it.
Body damage, paint is shot, and there is rust.
Very rough idle, its probably in need of a tune up.
Doubt it would pass safety inspection with turn signals/side markers as is.

$800 firm i'd say. You might be able to get more being the fact that it's a stick shift (they ALWAYS get more for them here, ricers like them).

If it were me i'd fix the broken headlight and sidemarker with salvage yard parts (proabably dirt cheap then), give it some new spark plugs and wires and get it running better. Then you could probably get a thousand.

I can't find any salvage yards with parts for a car that is 24 years old. I mean I started first grade when this car was new lol.

I found the headlight stuff on ebay and it was going to cost me about $135 to put the front end back together, and a tune up would run about $130(cap, rotor, plugs, wires). I hate to put $265 into a car that seems worth $500 to me.

not even a pull-your-own-part joint?

Car-part.com is a good place to check. It's basically a database of yards all over the country. Find one for a good price and most yards will ship it to you.

Honestly, here around Indy you could probably get 1200 if you fixed the lamps and got it running better...civics are in high demand due to ricers.
