What ever happened to the beast?
4.56 gears or lower is what it sounds like, if it topped out at 60

Speaking of mileage, I'm starting to really miss the Chevy. It got about 15 city if I didn't romp on it, and 18 highway. Did many trips on the freeway and highways, and it averaged 18 and some change. Thats with 3.42's, 245/75 R16 tires, and a 4 speed which final gear is 1:1.

It wouldn't even be a shoehorn operation. They drop right in. Very common swap for people building hot-rods out of the half-tons, and since Ford didn't change the motor mount points on the frame between the 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton pickups back then, the same mounts bolt into the F250 as well.

My rigs:

1985 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci OHV inline six | 4-speed OD manual | 310K | No power brakes | Running 100% - It hasn't driven this good in 15 years!

1984 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci six | granny four | 3.55 rear end | 210K | Brakes shot. Rear drums are doing most of the work. Not fit to drive due to that.
1997 Ford Explorer XLT | 4.0L Vulcan V6 | 5-speed automatic | shift-on-the-fly 4WD | 210,000 miles | Running 95% - Needs brakes on all four corners + bald tires
1989 Ford F150 | 300cid six...again | 5-speed | 4x4 | 160K | Needs brakes done as well. Oi!

I'd bet geared even lower than that. Literally, no shortage of power. Foot to the floor, highest gear, she'd do 60 and that's it unless you wanted her to blow. Put her in 4LO and you could run faster than the truck would go probably

We got rid of it because we quit sanding. Sold it to a guy that wanted to build an off roader out of it for $400. Perfect use for it really. Put some big tires and a snorkel on it and you're already golden body wasn't anything special, power and 4x4 is there, factory lift is there, no electronics to hurt, and i'm sure you could cram some massive tires under those wheelwells.
