Default What kind of Oil do YOU Use?

Just a poll to find out what CarForum.net's users use for engine oil normally.

I use Valvoline Synthetic Blend (High Mileage). 5W-30 for the winter and 10W-30 for all other seasons.

It's got some of the cleaning properties of synthetic oil without the ridiculous cost.

I've used Dino oil and then the Synthetic Blend and the blend came out much darker at the oil change interval. I think it did it's job a lot better.

I run Pennzoil full synthetic 10-30 in my jeep with 177k miles on the odo. My dad runs Quaker State HorsePower full synthetic 10-30 in his truck at 235k miles on the odo. My dad regularly runs a year or so and 8-10k miles before changing his oil too, so I'm sure the stuff works pretty well.

We run regular Pennzoil 10-30 dino oil in our fifth avenue and other vehicles.

Valvoline 10W40 full synthetic for my F150. The Dakota gets Valvoline 10W30 full syn, and the Van gets 5W30 Valvoline Full Syn.

As for the filter, Motorcraft FL-1A for the F150. I buy a normal Purolator or Wix for the two Dodges, tho I cannot remember the part number off the top of my head.

1985 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci OHV inline six | 4-speed OD manual | 310K | No power brakes | Running 100% - It hasn't driven this good in 15 years!

1984 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci six | granny four | 3.55 rear end | 210K | Brakes shot. Rear drums are doing most of the work. Not fit to drive due to that.
1997 Ford Explorer XLT | 4.0L Vulcan V6 | 5-speed automatic | shift-on-the-fly 4WD | 210,000 miles | Running 95% - Needs brakes on all four corners + bald tires
1989 Ford F150 | 300cid six...again | 5-speed | 4x4 | 160K | Needs brakes done as well. Oi!
