Arrow Regarding Spam Squad

Hey guys

This is just going to remind some of you of the part of using spam squad that says, do NOT use this feature unless you are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN the post is spam. There's been at least one user that was reviving old threads, and people used the spam squad feature. This is not going to be tolerated ANY more. We can't let this happen. If the user does not post a link, does not have a link in their signature, or anywhere else besides the designated web site profile field, do NOT report it as spam. This includes content spammers. Yes, we know they make people mad and revive old threads, etc etc, but just report it as normal and let us moderators deal with it. If you are not sure, don't use it. You WILL get yourself an infraction for it. I didn't think we would have a problem with this, but if this continues being a problem we may have to raise the requirements for it.

Thanks for your cooperation.

I know I reported one, I didn't think I hit the spam squad button. Hell it said "not available with this post" or something like that to him yesterday..

It's not availbable when they have more than a certain number of posts. But some user(s) cought them before they posted much and did that with the posts.

I noticed yesterday that there was someone was posting rude comments because of us deleting his spam posts (he has used cars in his signature (reported).

Am I allowed to do to the spam squad button if the posts contains "you guys are ****ing idiots for deleting my posts." even if it has no advertisement (I did it anyway, figured it was ok).

Just Askin. m'kay.

No. As the first post says, ONLY use it if there are advertisements in the post. I doubt many people are going to see that post before we get on.

Non-spam squad reported messages also draw us faster, because we know that there isn't urgency as much in squad'ed messages.

Just stick to normally reporting the messages if they are rude.

Hope this answers your question.

if I get "Invalid Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator" whenever I do spam Squad, does that mean someone else has, and why does it still show up in new post area?

You get this because normally when you report a spam post the page returns to the post that you reported, but now when you report the post it deletes it so the forum software can't find it. It's not a problem at all.

Exactly. You've removed a post from view...therefore you can't see it anymore. It means you've successfully squad'd it out

If a spammer posts multiple times, go right ahead. Thats a matter of personal preference. I don't want to push moderation duties upon you guys, but if you don't mind, it would be great if you removed the posts from public view, assuming they are indeed spam
