Default transmission slip

Noticed van hesitating on the road. Noticed this morning van seemed to slipping from reverse like it is in neutral. Auto parts store said no transmission code but showed a crank positioning sensor code. Was wondering if transmission problem or the positioning sensor.

If the crank sensor is throwing a code replace it first. It's cheap.
