There is no way that people that are proud of their gasoline powered cars will ever replace them with electric. There's no way to customize it other than put a more powerful motor in, and who gets an erection at the sound of an electric motor?
There has to be something that can be used to almost directly replace gas, and still allow for the basic, modifiable, loud engine to exist while still reducing or eliminating emissions. I mean, I don't want to live on a planet where you can't hear this anymore I should mention anything less than $100,000 or 500 horsepower, I don't care if it goes electric ![]() Last edited by UsernameGoesHer; 08-22-2012 at 05:43 PM. |

Electric will eventually replace everything once the battery technology becomes available for a reasonable cost. Other than that we will still use some alternative fuels such as E85, hydrogen, and diesel....etc
There really is no replacement for that feel and vibration you get from an internal combustion engine. So what knows what the future will hold.

Pretty sure methanol burns cleanly to produce good old h20. But it has extreme water absorbing capabilities, making the internals rust if I recall correctly..

Synthetic gasoline, alcohol, CNG, propane. We won't be getting into electrics for a loooong time, battery chemistry simply can not match the convenience, longevity and performance of a gasoline tank yet, and it doesn't look like we're gonna crack that nut anytime soon. We may get car sized fusion plants before we get decent batteries.
