Default What Stage 1 Modifications?

So I have a 4G15 SOHC 12V that I want to liven up a bit.

It's going to be completely overhauled along with it's transmission so I was wondering what Stage 1 Modifications can I do to it after the overhaul?

A 4G63(T) swap would be nice but I want to keep a stock look in the engine bay.

A decent description of why this has always been a poor question. The car's drivetrain isn't built for more horse power. For a lot of money, you could get a little more performance, or you could do yourself a favor and buy a car that is actually a tuner platform. Buy a Honda Civic, theres a limitless aftermarket crowd for it.

Actually the Engine is from 1991... a 1991 Lancer GTI. Can't sell the car because it's been with us since it was new, also don't want to replace the Engine (yet) since what I'm doing is more like a restoration with minor improvements.

I been told and I think it's accurate that a 4G63 6B will fit in with no modifications.

My point was not related to the year of your car but rather its essence, its an economy car with no aftermarket following whatsoever. If its sentimental, maintain it like it is and keep it running, its not worth putting a cent into for additional performance.

No such thing as stage modifications really for a car with zero aftermarket support.

Examples of stage 1 modifications include:

induction kits
fuel pressure regulators
a simple engine remap or timing changes
panel air filters
sports exhausts
blow off valves/diver tors.
