Question Quad Exhaust on 1.6L NA?

What do you think of having a Quad exhaust for a 1.6L NA engine?

Specifically a 4G15?

Pointless.

Invest the time and money in a nice set of headers, and a free flowing single exhaust.

What difference would a new header make?

Would I end up having less power if I decide to put a quad on?

Very, very little.

if you put a quad on you'd be wasting time and money. if you put proper headers on, you'd still be wasting time and money.

How do you suggest making it sound good but not sound like a "Fart Cannon"?

Cat removal will make it a little louder.

At the end of the day it's still a 1.6L four cylinder and will sound like one. How loud it is is the only real variable.

A decent set of headers and good exhaust might yield you 10-15hp. But should sound really good depending on the muffler. If it were me i would look into tanabe mufflers. they are typically a bit more mellow sounding, instead of raspy fart cannish lol.

10 hp increase with headers on a 300 hp car, yes, but on this thing? No way...that'd be a massive increase. Only makes like 90 hp.

And yes, your car has a cat, unless it's been taken off.

Yeah i think so, with a set of true equal length headers, and a free flowing mandrel bent exhaust with no cat in there, i think you might see a 10hp gain.
