So I was driving the s10 to home from work today and got about a mile from home and it died on me. I pushed it into a parking lot to work on it. I pulled a spark plug out and the spark seemed too yellow. I pulled the icm and coil and took it to az to test. icm tested good but the primary resistance on the coil was reading 1.5. I bought a new one and put it on and my spark looked better but still now start. I dont know why i didnt do this first but i sprayed a little starter fluid in the intake and it fired right up. Then it died. I checked the Schrader valve and fuel shot out. I know that doesn't mean it's getting enough pressure but when I pulled the plug there was no gas on it. I was thinking it was that spider assembly that the fuel injectors are on but I don't really know much about it. Does that generally go out as a whole unit just at once, or would it run bad first?
By the way, it's a 97 s10 with a 4.3 vortec v6.

The injectors need at least 48 PSI to spray. If the pump is weak you may get fuel out of the shrader valve but not past the injectors.
You need to get a fuel pressure gauge on it. 55-60 psi with the key on, you may need to cycle the key a couple of times. This is a common no start cause.

You need to properly check fuel pressure. Typically with the spider assembly it'll just run like crap and you'll get awful mileage, but it will usually run.

Good to know. Ill check it when I get off work today. I would much rather it be filter or pump than that spider lol

Hardest part of the spider assembly is the damn steel fuel lines. Those are damn near impossible to get off.

Haha yeah I'm not really that upset about it. It was just bad timing because my dad and step mom were coming in for the weekend and staying with us, so I knew I wouldn't have time to work on it. And with the Saturn down to right now it left me and my wife down to just the Taurus to get back and forth to work if I don't get it fixed by Monday.
I still haven't had a chance to check it out. Hopefully ill have some time tomorrow. (Technically today since its 1am lol)

Well I checked fuel pressure and I was at about 35 pounds. Went ahead and replaced the filter first then went to pull a part to grab a pump... I normally would never buy anything electric from a junkyard but I'm strapped for cash right now... Got the pump home and the connection is different!!!
![]() I took it off a 98 Sonoma and thought it was the same... Guess not. Well I guess I'm just gonna bite it and go grab on from AZ. I don't feel like goin back to the junkyard.

Gotta watch what you pull from 95-98 era s-trucks. There's a lot of parts that were phased out slowly during those years.
