Default AC Blower motor or blower motor resistor? IT'S SO HOT!!!!

I have a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan and the front AC is having issues. I'm trying to determine if it's the blower motor, or the blower motor resister, or possibly something else. The rear AC works just fine. While I'm driving the AC will be very intermittent. It'll go from blowing normally, to not blowing at all, to blowing so low that you can only feel it with your hand on the vent. It does this by itself and you can't control it. I've learned that I can kick on the blower motor and it'll start working again briefly, but it never stays. Most of the time it's stuck on the barely blowing anything setting. Any help is appreciated as it is in the mid 90's here and I need AC. I've tried Googling, but haven't really found a straight answer with these symptoms. My local parts store said that if I buy either of these and try it out and it's not the issue, I can't return it since it's an electrical item, and I can't just waste the money experimenting. Thanks in advance.

If the blower motor goes it's normally nothing, or if you bang on the dash it starts up.

Most times the resistor is bad or the connector to the resistor is burnt. These things get real hot and the connector will melt. It should be easy to see the condition of the connector visually. I'd start with checking it's condition.
