Fuel economy EPA highway (l/100km): 8.1

Weights: curb weight (kg) 1,450

Perks- looks, good gas mileage, inline 6, rear wheel drive, light
Cons- Automatic, small engine

Lexus- Power: 168 kW , 225 HP @ 6,000 rpm; 210 ft lb @ 4,800 rpm

Fuel economy EPA highway (l/100km): 10.2

Weights: curb weight (kg) 1,610

Perks-looks, most powerful, rear wheel drive(is this like a supra?)
cons- Automatic

Mustang- Power: SAE and 144 kW , 193 HP @ 5,500 rpm; 225 ft lb , 305 Nm @ 2,800 rpm

Fuel economy EPA highway (l/100km): 8.1

Perks- light, good 6cly, manual

How do all of these cars have very low gas mileage? Even my ford is better on gas than these..

Personally I would take the mustang (because I live in the states therefore, its the cheapest of all 3 to repair).

I know manuel is pretty cool and all, but i get bored with it. But thats probably because I have a jeep and not a sport car that is manuel. Lol, sometimes I forget to shift into 2nd gear cause I forget I'm driving with a gear stick

If you dont want the mustang just because of lower taxes, insurgence, and repair bills (especially oil change) than two other models, I would totally take the BMW

Do automatics even compare to manuals? Oh i saw that mustangs get about 18mpg city while bmw got 21mpg and 29mpg highway. I know repairs would be more but insurgence would be more on the mustang? Its a sports car and the bmw is probably considered economy class?

If you want to go fast, manual is better, but if you are just driving it every day, then get automatic, it will become really big pain in the arse.

Simply because BMW is a European made car, I would assume it would be more expensive than the mustang but if so, it cant be much more, maybe $200 more?

To be honest, I am leaning to the BMW now, even though I am a huge ford fan, but never really liked the mustang body style.

How old are you and how will you be using the car? Plus what are the milages of each car?

Bmw will have 128k and mustang will have 121k, so neck and neck. I would really like manual though so i might just wait till i find one with it. I will be 17, first car and a 7 grand budget.

Oh 17 here but drove a lot of cars so far. From audi to toytoa to trucks and jeeps that my friends have.

I did enjoy my friends audi A4 manual but knew after a while I would just get sick of it as I am with my jeep; but it becomes natural and automatic thing your body will get used to.

I am "go big" person so I got a truck and really enjoying it, though looking at the recent gas prices, I sometimes regret buying the truck but I love it!

It all comes down to which you rather have. Both cars will show off no doubt, but more kids will say ohhh mustang with manaul, very cool. Both car are powerful so yeah, its tough.

Ehhhhh there are a ton of mustangs here, there are a ton of rich people that are in my area sadly. Some kids at my highschool have Bmw m3's (24 grand) audi a4,s4, brand new mustangs, evo's, volvo's, lexus's, eclipses, Mercedes, vw gti's, and camero's. We have an evo 10 that blew the doors off a mercedes cl55 AMG. Im not looking to compete haha the old 328i is no where near that range, i just want something quick to get to 60 but be fuel efficient and reliable. I only dream of owning some of those cars....

Which has leather seats? Lol I think having leather seats and very neat/clean interior is a plus.
I would rather have teh BMW of mustang just because its auto and its easier on a teenager to drive with auto cause honestly, we may be good drivers but not experienced. For example, when your manual shifting, not only you have to worry where you are driving, but also shifting so you dont whine out the engine or grind gears

With a seven grand budget and your first car, I would stay away from BMW and Lexus. Why not just get a little beater Civic or Accord or something that gets good gas mileage and save up for a nice car in a couple years?

My first car was a Monte Carlo Z34 and it went through hell and back between mine AND my sister's first car. I'm glad I only paid $2700 for it. Between school(careless other teenagers opening car doors and smacking your car) and hotrodding it(trust me and everyone else here, we know you will) that thing will wear down pretty quick.

I concur get yourself a nice beater as you'll probably end up thrashing it. I'd say a civic as they are pretty reliable little buggers if they aren't modded.
