Default Ever hear of this?

My friends Expedition has two sets of keys... NEITHER of them will lock/unlock the door (they don't turn). Do I need to have the locks rekeyed, or replace them? Would a ford dealer (not that there are ANY In the city) do it, or do I have to go call a locksmith?

I hope I don't have to replace them... 67 bucks a pop, and getting into the door panels for my focus was a PITA..

How does he drive it if the keys don't work?

Push button start and uses the remote to unlock?

If they work in the ignition then the ignition may have been changed.

they both start/run the (car, truck... thing), but her keyfob doesn't work (the buttons in the remote are missing), so she asked me to fix the keyfob and locks.. keyfob is kinda easy, that's just buying a new one and programming it, locks, a little more difficult.

Sounds like one of 2 things, either the door locks have been changed, or they have never been lubricated. I've seen that many times, people with remotes never using the key to lock/unlock, only the remote, and the locks dry out and seize. Use a good penetrating oil, I use Moovit, but PB will probably work just as well. Flood the key passage and work the key back and forth. I've had to wiggle keys for several minutes on some.
