Question Driving A Manual/Stick Shift

How long did it take for you to learn how to drive a manual and how many times did you stall the first, second and third time? My driving instructor said that I was a natural because the first time I drove a manual I never stalled or span the wheels and I didn't get any help either. I just got in and drove, in fact bystanders said that I was driving better than the instructor as I could do a hill start without the parking brake on and I didn't roll back. I have also never had any training from driving simulators either or ever rode a motorbike or anything with a clutch. Do you think that I should try race driving with my natural ability to see if I'm as good in the corners as I am driving in a straight line and pulling away?

I stalled it, but that's probably more because i was nine. Since i learned how to drive a stick, i've stalled once and that was because it was a terrible gearbox and I was in 4th gear, rather than reverse (and it didn't feel like a gear at all, lol).

I stalled quite a few times when I started, but the first time I drove a manual was when I was less than 10 years old and clueless, and it was in a gutless 2.0L gas burner truck out in fields (more rolling resistance).

Now that I have some common sense, it's pretty easy to get started on hills and such; it's even easier in a diesel powered truck.

I stalled a bunch, but I'm fine now. Although I still stall occasionally. (and when I do it's because I'm not paying attention)
