It should be a great first car. 100K miles is a bit high, but if the car was well kept it should pose no problem... Whats the going price of it?

I love what you do for me Toy Oh Tah

LoL. Sorry that comercial just came to my head. I love the mid 90s celicas. the look awesome. A bit more muscular looking than your average celica. They are sound cars as well. They also have some aftermarket support if you are looking into that sort of thing.

Yeah Celicas are fairly reliable but at 100k I'd still give the engine a good going over and making sure it had been kept in good condition before hand...

Ok, update I went to the celica today it was all ****ed and nothing lik described in the craigs list listing, what are some other good first cars. I'd like something fast but not super fast if that makes sense.

1994-2001 Acura Integra GS-R (175hp 8,000 rpm redline, good gas mileage, very reliable, great aftermarket support, great handling and pretty quick stock) 1993-2001 Honda Prelude si or sh (200hp 7,500 rpm redline, more power than a GS-R but heavier, little bit worse gas mileage due to the larger engine, moderate aftermarket support, also has excellent handling especially the SH which has a system that the splits torque between the front wheels and helps pull you through turns), 1990-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX and GS-T (200hp 7000rpm redline, turbocharged so for the money you get more power out of them when modified, great aftermarket support, the GSX has all wheel drive which gives it even better handling and helps it keeps its grip when you up the horsepower).

Those three would be my first choices for cars with good aftermarket support that are reliable and decently fast.

Just steer clear of the V-8's and you will be fine on your first car Unless you are made of money and want to pay high insurance, lol.

Well there are a lot of sporty four cylinder cars out there, the nissan 240sx, mazda mx-3, mazda mx-6, subaru impreza, also the mercedes 190e 16v is a nice car too, engine engineered by cosworth racing, although the repair bills on that particular car might be expensive if it breaks.

Yup, I think a good 4 cyl would be nice...wish i had one actually, as i am getting around 13 miles/gallon in my v6 ford explorer, lol. And a lot of those ones that you listed can be modded to get some extra horse power too..
