Default Trying out the progressive snapshot driver monitoring unit

I'm trying out the Progressive driver monitoring unit. From what I read it won't cause them to raise my rates if I drive poorly, but I can be dropped. I'm not too worried about it.

You know this thing updates Progressive in real time, while I drive? Big brother stuffs guys. Big brother....

Anybody else ever try this?

/wait for the post where they drop me.

This! I haven't had a ticket for a moving violation in 7 years, but no insurance would keep me if they saw how I drive in my safe areas.

You have a GTO, I'm in a Town Car. Big difference in fun factor there. Plus if I push it I typically don't break past single digits for fuel economy.

I could see one way I'd get one of these, come to think of it. If I had a sixteen year old I'd pop one in their car just to keep tabs on what they were doing.

IIRC it's an OBD2 plug in. So no dice for kenny and simfreak.

This.

DOn't got it, coworker does. Always whines about hard braking... Chevy 6.5 diesel, downshifting, brakes barely touched. Slowly come rolling to a stop. Damn thing goes off.

According to the info on it, it uses accelerometers to determine hard braking and acceleration. Slowing down greater than 7mph per second they consider to be hard.
