Sounds great, but this still doesnt solve much... How do you charge the thing? Plug it into the wall? Because if you do that, then its no longer economic... The power supplied to your house is most likely from a fossile fuel power plant. So its just saving one fuel, and using another...

So unless you use a wind mill or solar panel to charge the batteries, its no more economic than a honda....

I guess that is true, but it is still better for the environment.

Not really all that much better, its just pulling more power from the powerplant, making it run harder, which produces more polution.

Ultimately the most effective way to cut back on our dependancy without a huge impact, is make all these guys who drive fullsize trucks as a daily driver... They waste about 10mi/gal for nothing. The drive the damn thing to thier office... I feel you should be required to have a commercial/industrial buiseness license to own and operate a fullsize pickup and larger... That would cut back our dependancy and pollution by about 40%!!!
