I'm probably not the best sample for this, as I'm 100% dead set on never even considering buying one of those things, but I've completed it.

The day I give my engines up is the day my heart stops beating. Never going to buy an EV, wouldn't even keep one I got for free.

1985 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci OHV inline six | 4-speed OD manual | 310K | No power brakes | Running 100% - It hasn't driven this good in 15 years!

1984 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci six | granny four | 3.55 rear end | 210K | Brakes shot. Rear drums are doing most of the work. Not fit to drive due to that.
1997 Ford Explorer XLT | 4.0L Vulcan V6 | 5-speed automatic | shift-on-the-fly 4WD | 210,000 miles | Running 95% - Needs brakes on all four corners + bald tires
1989 Ford F150 | 300cid six...again | 5-speed | 4x4 | 160K | Needs brakes done as well. Oi!

Also completed the survey. Though again, I'd be under that "very unlikely to buy an electric car" category. I'm not sure what it is, but ICEs just make me much more happy than an electric motor...

Thanks for answering and I hope other people will as well!!

Well that's pretty simple to explain. Engines have souls and personalities. They have their own preferences, they have a way they like to be treated, and will most often balk at someone who mistreats them. I know mine do, mine run like a swiss watch with me but if someone tries to abuse them they will refuse to run right....and sometimes run at all.

Electric motors don't have that personality. That's why I would never even consider an EV.
