Default Flip the lid of air pan

Did anyone ever hear of doing this my friend said do it so i tried it and didnt notice anything, it looks like it just lets more air in but still covers the top as it should.

I did this to my truck. All it did was make the engine a little louder. Other then that I didn't notice anything else.

This would only make a difference if the intake snorkel was too small and restricted the air flow to the engine. But it does sound sweet.

Long as the air has to go thruogh the filter to make it in the intake, shouldn't hurt a thing.

Hot air rises then hits the hood and your filter sucks it in rather then the nice cold air from the snorkel. It will likely make less power.

yeah I don't invert mine either. The increase in CFM isn't worth sucking in 180 air as opposed to ambient air. Funnily enough, with the way the snorkel is set up on mine, I get ram air with it connected anyway.

1989 Ford F150 | 300cid six...again | 5-speed | 4x4 | 160K | Needs brakes done as well. Oi!

Warmer air = better fuel economy.
