Default First Car $8,000-$13,000 (Noob at Cars.)

Hey,
I am 16 currently in high school. I don't know much about cars. Interested in computers... I am looking for good looking used car with some performance. I kind of like the Audi A4's if that helps? lol I just would like some other options in the price range. Thanks. Would like to keep it closer to $8,000..

So do you want just a sedan or are coupes viable as well. What matters more to you gas mileage or performance? Basically what features are most important to you?

Sounds like a 2002 WRX would be an ideal car for you. AWD so they have great handling and do well in the snow. Turbocharged boxer 4 cylinder engine producing 227 horsepower. 14.5 second quarter mile time stock. They also have a strong presence in the aftermarket making tuning parts for them fairly cheap and abundant. They are only available as a sedan or a wagon unfortunately. They are well known for reliability. Gas mileage isn't great though 20 city 26 highway.

I don't really like the look of the wrx. If it wasn't for that... It also is on the higher end of my budget. Are there any others?

You can get an early Audi A4 for real cheap, and S4's can be had for less than 13k sometimes.

Second generation (1995-1999) Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. 2 liter turbocharged inline 4 cylinder producing 200 hp. All wheel drive as well. They are one of the most popular cars in the tuning world so parts are everywhere for them. If driven practically they get excellent gas mileage as well.

Well the lower mileage the better though the second generation Eclipses are known to be pretty reliable just try to get a car that wasn't owned by a street racer wannabe who beat the crap out of it. The 1998-2001 A4s and S4s have some major problems with reliability according to the Consumer Reports so I would have a mechanic look one over before buying.
