Exclamation Exhaust help

so I have a 1995 bmw 325i and I want to make her sound alot better. friends suggested cutting holes in the mufler and that didnt sound like a good idea. another was taking off the muffler itsself or just taking off the tip. any suggestions?

Nipping the tip will only annoy the guy that has to probe it come emissions time. Cutting holes in the muffler will make it sound like ass, removing the muffler entirely even moreso.

Look into some nice borla or magnaflow mufflers, along with a set of high-flow cats. The cats do a surprising amount of noise control, and high-flow cats will pass more noise than the OEM units.

You could also look into the factory exhaust from the M3 of that year.

My rigs:

1985 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci OHV inline six | 4-speed OD manual | 310K | No power brakes | Running 100% - It hasn't driven this good in 15 years!

1984 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci six | granny four | 3.55 rear end | 210K | Brakes shot. Rear drums are doing most of the work. Not fit to drive due to that.
1997 Ford Explorer XLT | 4.0L Vulcan V6 | 5-speed automatic | shift-on-the-fly 4WD | 210,000 miles | Running 95% - Needs brakes on all four corners + bald tires
1989 Ford F150 | 300cid six...again | 5-speed | 4x4 | 160K | Needs brakes done as well. Oi!

There are alot of options out there.

Rogue Engineering DMS Exhaust for the BMW 325i, 328i and M3 (e36) - US models from 1992 to 1999 | BeastPower Motorsports Is a great choice on a budget.

If you really want the good stuff Dinan is great stuff specifically for BMW.

Also ill second the Borla recommendation. Cant go wrong with anything borla!
2012 Lancer Evolution GSR
2010 Mazda CX-7 - The wife's car
1995 Taurus GL - Daily Diver
1991 Supra 1JZ - Sold (regretfully)
